Name: Paul and Paula Cooper

Make Their Home in: Marin County, CA

Married 32 blissful years

Children: A son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter in Redding, CA; and a daughter, son-in-law and four grandchildren in Boise, ID

A Little About Us: Both retired managers with IRS; Paul managed teams of agents auditing Fortune 500 companies and Paula was chief of real estate and property (and then training) for the eleven Western states.

Former scuba divers and underwater photographers. Lived aboard a 50 foot motoryacht for 20 years in the East Bay. Both Past Commodores of Pittsburg Yacht Club. Avid readers, gardeners and wine collectors. New favorite wines: Scarecrow, Chappellet, Peay, Continuum.

Currently Reading: Paula: "Beautiful Boy" by David Sheff ; Paul: "Wine Coach Instructions for Rancho Sarco Wine " (soon to be a bestseller, we're sure!)

Three Fun Wine Facts About Us: 1. We have a double vertical of Opus One. 2. We once had dinner with the Marchesi di Frescobaldi. (He was simply charming.) 3. When we remodelled our house, we booted the washer and dryer out to the garage and installed a 500 bottle temperature and humidity controlled wine storage unit in their place. (We really do have our priorities right!)

Why Did We Get a Winepod: A number of years ago, Bob Mondavi gave us Cabernet rootstock from the ToKalon Vineyard when it was being replanted because of phylloxera. These gorgeous vines are now planted in our backyard and the grapes from them are just incredible. We're looking forward to honoring the man (and the wonderful grapes) by making them into wine.

The Name of Our Wine: Cooper's Folly (A close runner-up name was: "I Can't Believe It's Not Vinegar!")

What We've Named Our Winepod: Greg, Jr.(!)

Why We Love Our Winepod: We've learned more about wine in the last few weeks than we have in the last few years. We now have a more in-depth knowledge about the why's and how's of winemaking which has made us appreciate each glass of wine even more. The support from Greg, Dave, Johanna and Marianna has been priceless. (Although Paula wishes she had paid more, no make that "paid ANY" attention in Chemistry.)(Paul avoided the subject in school entirely.)
