The Challenge includes four varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc. Submissions will be judged and medals will be awarded in three key areas:

1. VARIETAL-SPECIFIC SENSORY EVALUATION:

Multiple Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals awarded plus:

A year subscription to partner publication

2. BEST OF VARIETAL:

Single Gold, Silver and Bronze "Best of Varietal" Medals awarded plus:

All single medal winners featured together in a half page ad in a prestigious wine publication
Gold medal winners receive a complementary fermentation from ProVina's premium vineyards

3. BEST OF SHOW:

Single "Best of Show" Medal awarded as grand prize plus:

Full page solo ad in prestigious wine publication
12 month feature on www.winepod.net
An invitation to sit on the 2010 judges panel
6 complimentary fermentations from ProVina's premium vineyards

"The First Annual WinePod Winemakers' Challenge" will be held in late October 2009 in Napa Valley with a panel of esteemed California-certified wine judges, celebrity winemakers and wine critics. All WinePod winemakers are invited to take part but need not be present to win!

Entry is FREE to anyone who purchases grapes from ProVina (2 pail minimum) in the months of March or April 2009. Registration will cover up to four different submissions. A $500 registration will apply to all other applicants.

COMPETITION RULES:

1. To qualify for entry in the WinePod Challenge, a wine must have been produced in a WinePod between April 1, 2008 and April 30, 2009.

2. The WinePod Challenge will accept entries from wines made in a WinePod from anywhere in the world.

3. Each wine’s category will be determined by information on the front label.

4. The decision of the judges is final.

5. Wines received in bottles other than 375 ml, 750 ml or 1.5 litre will not be judged.

6. Four (4) 750 ml bottles or equivalent PER SUBMISSION are required.

7. All entry forms must be received by April 30, 2009 to qualify.

8. All wines entered must be received by October 16, 2009.

9. Entry is free to those who purchase grapes (2 pail minimum) between March 1, 2009 and April 30, 2009, and $500 for those who do not. Entry fee includes up to 4 submissions.
